We have a thriving colts section which caters for 8 - 14 year olds, boys and girls, of all abilities from beginner upwards. There is no minimum standard, beginners are welcome. We aim to teach young people the technical skills, the positional and game skills and most importantly to develop a love of hockey while having fun!

Each training sessions starts with a warm up followed by some fitness/agility work. We then spend time on technical skills before finishing the session with a game.

Training sessions are held by England Hockey qualified coaches:
When: Every Sunday during term times, from 10:30 - 12 noon
Where: Therfield School astro, Dilston Road, Leatherhead

This season we are going to introduce a couple of new things to the Colts section

Goalkeeping - have you got the reflexes of a cat?! Nimble on your feet? Have you ever fancied trying your hand at Goalkeeping?

We are very excited to announce that this season, we will be introducing specialised Goalkeeper training. Training will be provided by our club Goalie coach, 'Hems'. We will start with a taster session on Sunday 10th October. Anyone can have a go and see if they have what it takes!

Merit Awards - to reward progress and improvement among our young players, we are introducing a system of merit awards. There will be three levels starting at Bronze and progressing to Gold. These awards are not compulsory but will be open to anyone wishing to participate. Further details on how the awards can be achieved will be issued at the first session

Session Dates for 2010/2011 Season

The new season gets underway on SUNDAY 19th SEPTEMBER

Please arrive at 10.15am instead of the usual 10.30am so the necessary admin can be completed. Ensure children come equipped with shin pads, gum shields, non fizzy soft drink or /water and are dressed appropriately for sport. We have plenty of spare sticks for those who need them.
