South East Region: Oaks League – Division

The Ladies 2nd XI were at home, hosting Purley Walcountians 2's. With a turn-out of 14 players Leatherhead had a good co-hort of skills and stamina available to sustain the 70 minutes against a team seated right behind them in the South East Hockey League Women's Division 4 Oaks.

Whilst the opposition were the first to score and held onto possession, an unexpected break in midfield enabled Leatherhead to pull level. With deft passing from the halfway line, Anna Reid was put through with a clear run on goal, and calmly slotted the ball beyond the advancing keeper for Leatherhead to secure the equaliser before half time. The second half bought a competitive fight by both teams pushing for the win, but thanks to numerous clearances by the defence, Leatherhead held on, closing with a 1-1 draw. Their share of the points sees Leatherhead retain their mid-table position.
